Baikal Mining Company started construction of an infrastructure required to supply power to Udokan Mining & Metallurgical Plant during its operation. In particular, a 220kV substation “Bluzhdayuschy” of 146MW will be erected in close vicinity to the production area. Grading and levelling works have already been started at the construction site.
During his working trip to Kalar District of Zabaikalye Region on March 13, 2020, Alexander Kozlov, RF Minister of Far East and Arctic Development, visited construction sites of the future Udokan Mining & Metallurgical Plant.

Baikal Mining Company (BMC, part of USM Group of Alisher Usmanov) implementing Udokan Copper Project in Zabaikalye Region received the “Strategic Development” award in “The Star of the Far East” contest.
As Deputy Construction Director of BMC LLC Sergey Zhilenko noted, “A transformer is one of the main elements of the power infrastructure that will provide uninterruptible power supply at all stages of Udokan MMP construction.”
