Renaissance Heavy Industries became a General Contractor for construction of the Udokan MMP Process Plant
Baikal Mining Company (BMC) signed a Contract Agreement with Renaissance Heavy Industries for construction of «Udokan Mining and Metallurgical Plant (Phase 1) with the annual capacity of 12 MMT of ore. Process Plant».
The Contract price is about RUB 28 bn.
The document was signed by Yury Ryabov, BMC’s General Director, and Mikhail Ledovskih, RHI’s General Director.
Specifically, the company will construct the Process Plant, including Concentration Plant, Hydrometallurgical Plant, Crushing and Conveying Plant. In addition, the Contractor will supply equipment and materials for the mentioned facilities, install process equipment, perform individual tests and commissioning work.
Construction and installation work is planned to be completed in 2022.
RHI is one of the leading players in the heavy industry facilities construction market. Earlier the company completed large industrial facilities construction projects in Russia, including Zabaykalsky Krai.
As Valery Kazikaev, Chairman of the BMC’s Board of Directors, noted, “RHI started preliminary work back in April 2019, mobilized machinery and significant number of staff at the site. The company will proceed with construction of the Process Plant in full from early September».
Earlier BMC signed an Agreement for process equipment supply with Outotec, a leading company in mining and beneficiation, metallurgical and chemical technologies.
Construction is financed via syndicated loan amounting to USD 1.79 bn given to BMC in July 2019 for 12 years. VEB.RF, Gazprombank and Sberbank partnered up in the deal. 30 August 2019
