More than 2 tons of waste was removed from the town beach at Lake Kenon as part of “Water of Russia” campaign
The Ministry of Natural Resources of Zabaikalye, non-profit-making organizations and regional operator Oleron+ acted as arrangers of the event.

Waste clearing at the coast of Lake Kenon was held in the format of environmental quest “Clean Games”.

19 teams 6 people each, including employees of Baikal Mining Company, participated in the “Clean Games” at the town beach.

According to the results of the games, the team “On the Edge” became a leader in terms of separate collection of waste. The team collected and submitted for utilization more than 10 bags with plastic waste.

Overall, on Sunday the regional operator removed 2 trucks with waste from the town beach of Lake Kenon. Despite the weather, environmental activist volunteers successfully dealt with the task of the town beach clearing.

The participants received well-earned prizes and letters of thanks.

All-Russian campaign on clearing the coasts of water bodies “Water of Russia” is held annually starting from 2014 by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia within the framework of federal target program “Water of Russia”.

Each year the campaign extends its geographic reach and involves more and more participants: in 2017 1.5 million of volunteers cleared 10 thousand water bodies in 80 regions of the country; in 2018 1.8 million people cleared 5.3 thousand water bodies in 85 regions of the country. 16 September 2019
